Neurons

Post untuk Ita, ex-klasmet masa form 4 dulu. Sebenarnya tak tau nak tulis pasal apa. So main hentam je la.

Firstly, nervous cells are called neurons. Neurons have a few structures such as :
1) cell body (soma)
2) Processes (projections) which consists of axons and dendrites

Both dendrites and axons are attached to the soma. Senang ceritanya dendrite ni sambung banyak2 gitu kat soma. Axon tu pulak dia sebatang gitu je.

Synapses are the gap junctions between one neuron and another. Synapse is the site where electrical impulse are transmitted between neurons.

The mechanism of synapse :
1) Action potential (electric impulse) reaches at pre-synaptic terminal
2) The impulse trigger the opening of calcium channel located at pre-synaptic knob.
3) Ca ion from extracellular space flows into the pre-synaptic knob.
4) Ca ion induce the synaptic vesicle to release a substance called neurotransmitter
5) Neurotransmitter through the synapse
6) It binds to receptor located at post-synaptic terminal, and trigger the generation of another electric impulse
7) The electrical impulse travels through many neurons until it reaches it's target (effectors such as muscles and glands)

Eh3 sebenarnya aku tak tau nak cerita apa lagi ni ==' Ada pape nak tambah cakap la.
