Perginya seorang rakan

Aku bukak twitter hari ni terkejut bila kawan aku bagitau salah sorang kawan aku masa sekolah kat Rantau Petronas baru meninggal dunia sebab accident motor.

Sebenarnya pagi tadi pun aku accident motor jugak. Terbabas masa turun jalan berbukit. Syukur la tak langgar orang, dan takde tulang-tulang aku yang patah. Cuma calar kat kaki sikit je. Kitorang berdua accident motor, tapi yang membezakan kawan aku tu dah sampai ajalnya. Aku ni pulak belum tahu lagi ajal aku. Mungkin besok, lusa. Siapa tau? Itu semua qada' dan qadar Allah. Semoga roh arwah dicucuri rahmat.

Hell-O Second Year Medicine

Hari-hari terakhir kat Malaysia dihabiskan dengan menjelajah KL  naik lrt

Ok lah, post kali ni biarlah tulis dalam english sket.... Ada kesalahan grammar tu sila abaikan. :p

9th September 2012, the date which I had to go back to Jogjakarta, Indonesia again to continue my study for the second year. Sigh... The one month holiday was great, and I had a great time in Malaysia. For the first block in the second year, I will learn about Conception, Fetal Growth and Anomaly. Basically it's about the mother and the pregnancy. At first I had no feelings about this topic. However, when my sister told me about how she loves to know about it, it quickly made me realize that I found it quite interesting too. Well now I'm more motivated to study. Basically everything felt great. Now I had a new tutorial group, but I still missed my old ones. Well, I'm going to share about the lab sessions here.

Anatomy session

When I read the anatomy session in the practical book, I quickly found it interesting to learn about embryology and fetal growth. Now I got the chance to clearly understand about the process of development from a zygote into a fetus. Well, I read "KL Moore : Developing Human" for references. It talks all about the process from the first week of gestational age until the 38th week, in which the fetal age is approaching into labor. For each anatomy session we've got to take the pre-test. For group A, the answer for the pre-test is n.trigeminus(V), ectoderm, syncytiotrophoblast, primitive streak and.... I don't remember for the last one :p . I got three of them correct, and passed the pre-test. Lim Shin Sze, as usual, scored 5/5, a full mark. That was expected. Well, we got two anatomy session, and the tentamen is on the second week. Oh, that's fast alright. I hoped that I can pass it. I hated much if I had to take the remedial exam =,=
Oh, and I also loved the anatomy in the second year was because I didn't have to study in front of cadaver/corpses anymore. Ah, how I hate the smell of formalin.

Do you guys know what this is? It's an embryo, with skeleton.
It looks like a shrimp :p

Physiology Session

For physiology practical session, we conducted an experiment on detection of beta-hCG in urine, basically a test to check if a woman is pregnant or not. A woman is said to be pregnant if she has hCG, which stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, present in her urine. So for the detection of hCG, we used a special strip.

And the result was this....

The strip with two lines are for positive pregnancy, and the one with one line for negative pregnancy
Hehehehe know I know how to conduct test checking for a woman in a pregnancy...
Actually there's more to this experiment, but I was lazy to write it :p

Clinical Pathology (PK)

Well, in Indonesia it was called Patologi Klinis, or Pey-Ka.. That's how it was pronounced. For this session, we are doing tests for sperm, or semen. At first all the boys wondered if anyone has to be a volunteer to provide the sperm, including me. However it seems that the semen used were from a patient in Sardjito Hospital. All of us were like, PHEWW! Hahaha

Ok for this sperm test we will test for the semen's viscosity, color, odor, volume, pH and so on. For the smell, in the book it stated that normal semen has the smell of an acacia flower. Okay, that's new to me. Next we check for the sperm's count, motility, morphology, etc. Looking the sperm under the microscope, they were very cute.. They looked much like tadpoles.. :p . Some swims in a straight line, some was swimming very slowly, and also some sperm didn't swim at all.

Well, that's for the overall for block 2.1..Interesting isn't it? I enjoyed myself studying all this. I hoped that for the block exam I can get an 'A', so I can increase my cGPA marks... Ok, tata~

p/s: berpeluh-peluh aku nak translate satu-satu ayat dalam english. Ah, penat jugak buat post english ni!

Cuba teka mana satu basikal aku.... Oh, aku memang datang kampus ngan basikal.
Tak reti lagi bawak motor
