I Say No!

Meh kali ni entri ketiga dalam bahasa Inggeris. Mohon-mohon takde orang tegur kesalahan grammar ataupun past tense present tense gitu.

This time I'm gonna tell a story(?) on family planning. What is family planning? Family planning is when you and your family is planning to have a picnic elsewhere to bond with each other.

NOT.

Family planning is the planning of when to have a children, and the use of birth control methods (wiki). There are several birth control methods that may be implemented by women and men.

1.  Intrauterine Device (IUD)

IUD is a small device inserted into the uterus and act as a contraception. Intra means inside, and uetrine means, duhh.. uterus. So there are several types of IUD. One of it is IUD with copper. So copper IUD's mechanism involves in preventing fertilisation between an ovum with a sperm. This is done by the actions of copper, which is a natural spermicide (sperm killer).

The second type is hormonal IUD. Oh yeah, copper IUD is classified as non-hormonal IUD. HIUD (abbrv) contains the hormone progestogen. Do you remember progestrone? So progestogen is similar to it. The type of progestogen used is levonogestrel (Zzzz...). It inhibits fertilisation by :

-thickens cervical mucus
-inhibit sperm activity
-suppresses endometrium

IUD is usually inserted by doctors. Mind that. And the size of IUD is very very small.

2. Condoms

Condoms are a rubber/latex covering that is worn on the male's penis to prevent semen from entering the uterus of a woman, as well as reducing the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STI). Besides that, it can also be used as :

- Pop ice-cream #eh
Condoms have multiple flavour such as apple and strawberry. So what you do is.. Fill drinking water inside the condom, and then put it into the freezer. Then, tadaaah. Your ice-cream is now ready to be served when the water is frozen. #joke

3. Birth control pills

They are pills containing hormones which suppreses the level of female fertility. Hormones used are estradiol and progestogen. They may helps to avoid pregnancy, but has a handful of side effects such as breakthrough bleeding (mid-cycle vaginal bleeding), dysmenorrhea (painful bleeding), acne, etc.

4. Contraceptive Implant

It is a small tube-shaped device which is inserted into the skin near the axilla through minor surgical procedure performed by doctors.. Implant contains hormones which prevents ovulation and thickens the cervical mucus. Thus, preventing pregnancy. It can last for years, but may also removed at any time by the doctor.

Well, that's all I got to say about family planning / birth control methods. Just a simple reminder. Be careful when using hormonal contraceptive methods. Please consult to the doctor carefully about this  :)

p/s : "I say no" means I say no to baby. Hahaha
